The entire WithTheBoat.com project revolves around the lodging section of this website. If you are like the founder of this website, Robert Kothe, and your boat is mobile enough to trailer yet too small to sleep on comfortably than this page is for you. You can be with the boat away from home but sleep in a roomier hotel / motel room overnight.

If your boat is large enough to sleep on, sometimes you want a nice shower in a room that is not rocking. Perhaps you are meeting up with extended family. There are many reasons why cruisers would want lodging with the boat.

Port Jefferson Marina

Port Jefferson Marina is very close to Danfords. For a non-resident the ramp fees are a bit pricey. If you are familiar with the area please contact us with a more cost effective way to launch around Port Jefferson. 

update: 3/3/21 My last check seems to indicate that the non-resident round trip ramp fee may have come down. The website indicated it is $35 Round trip. When I first researched this it looked like it was around $80. That is a big difference. I guess the 2021 season has to start to confirm accuracy.

Fire Island

This one is a bit of a connect the dots situation. Our goal was to list hotels with docks. Here’s the funny thing about parts of Fire Island, most of fire island do not allow cars. Some hotels use golf carts to shuttle around the guests. So therefore, the connect the dots moment is that you simply need to connect the marinas to the hotels and presto, you have a “With the Boat” vacation.

Cruisers

Depending on the size of your boat, a hotel is not necessary. Cruisers can stay on their boats and enjoy fire island from the amenities of the marina.

This was a great discovery. This website does bookings for transient boaters all over the country and especially the long Island area. It is easy to use and has done its homework to include amenities, including gas and moorings.
